What this is
Return toward attainable functional range
RegulateSelf is the Recover function of the stack: active support back toward a stated, reasonably attainable baseline.
A baseline is not an imaginary ideal avatar. It is a previous or honestly attainable range of function: restored enough to rejoin life with more available capacity.
Regulate only with consent. Support the system; do not police it. Leave Regulate when enough function has returned to Maintain.
When to use it
Enter here
- When the body or environment needs practical support before ordinary life can continue.
- When food, water, medication, hygiene, warmth, or sleep preparation matters.
- When movement, stretching, walking, breath, or rehabilitation would return capacity.
- When the immediate environment is causing the body to brace.
- When small practical frictions are draining daily energy.
Practice
Return to range
Name the attainable baseline: not perfect, not optimized, just restored enough.
Choose one concrete support: nourishment, hydration, hygiene, warmth, sleep preparation, movement, cleaning, repair, or help.
Ask whether the support is consensual. Regulation that becomes monitoring returns to Accept.
State gate
Before moving forward
Has enough functional range returned to rejoin ordinary life, without regulation becoming surveillance?
If yes: Continue to MaintainSelf.
If no: Remain with RegulateSelf if active support is still consensual. If regulation becomes monitoring or control, return to AcceptSelf. If the system needs less demand, return to RestSelf.
Anti-misuse clause
What this phase is not
RegulateSelf is not ideal-avatar optimization. It is not a demand to become perfectly healthy, calm, clean, productive, or optimized before living.
Baseline
Restored enough is enough
Grooming is here. Physical rehabilitation is here. Nourishment is here. Movement is here. Meditation belongs here when it helps recover baseline.
The goal is not optimal regulation. The goal is enough range to rejoin life.
Boundary
Regulate toward the real, not the fantasy
If the target has never been available and exists mostly as an imagined superior self, it is not baseline. It is an avatar.
Avatars can inspire Program, but they should not govern Regulate.
